In August 2025, viamon launched the 7th generation of MDS sensors. Our most compact and versatile sensor to date. The new MDS-T was specially developed for monitoring and protecting cables, especially copper cables, and can be used wherever cables need to be reliably protected. Thanks to its extremely small design and perfect camouflage in the corrugated conduit, it can be integrated inconspicuously. With 2G/4G LTE connectivity, precise temperature, vibration and angle measurement as well as full calibration, it is seamlessly integrated into the proven viamon alarm chain. The 7th generation sensor is not only optimized for monitoring and protecting cables, but is also ideal for protecting other critical objects such as inverters, PV modules, containers and other components of the critical
infrastructure. The new MDS-T was successfully deployed for the first time in September 2025 on a 62 MWp solar park, where it impressively demonstrated its performance. With the new MDS-T, viamon is defining the standard for modern cable security: compact, intelligent and limitless in use.
